# Pricing for schools

Open-group seats or a private class, one invoice and the full course for every student. Here is how quotes, payment and sponsored seats work.

## One to four seats

$399 per student, in US dollars, paid once. That's the same price as an individual place. Students join the open high school group, Thursdays, 5:30 to 7 PM Eastern, alongside students from other schools.

## Five or more seats

For five or more seats in an open group, email [hello@bugclubhq.com](mailto:hello@bugclubhq.com?subject=BugClub%20HQ%20for%20schools) and I'll send the details. Tell me how many students you have and how old they are so we can work out the right group.

## A private class

Up to 12 of your students take the course together on a day and time we agree on. After school or during a class period both work. Email me for pricing, with your student count and the times that would work.

It's the same eight-week course: one self-paced week, then seven weeks with one 90 minutes live session each. I teach every session and read every write-up.

## What every seat includes

- All eight weeks of readings, labs and challenges.
- Seven live sessions and their recordings.
- Feedback from me on every write-up.
- Private sandboxes during the course and for a year after it ends.
- A Case File of the student's work, kept for a year after the course ends.
- A parent account for students under 18.

Everything runs in a browser, including on school Chromebooks. There's nothing to install. If your network filters sites, I'll send the list of domains to allow. If a teacher or program lead wants progress information, ask about it when we talk.

## One invoice for the school

We agree on the group, the time and the price before billing. The school gets one invoice for all its seats, so families pay nothing. You can pay by card, or I can send an invoice. I take purchase orders too.

Each student still applies, gets their own account and signs the ethics agreement. A parent or guardian joins the application call and co-signs the agreement for a student under 18. Paying for the seats doesn't replace those steps.

## Help with the budget

If you're a Title I school, library or nonprofit, email me. Your budget won't decide whether your students get in. Employers, scholarship programs and community groups can sponsor seats too.

## Refunds for sponsored seats

You can get a full refund any time during the first four weeks of the course, including before it starts. If the school paid for a seat, the school asks for the refund and the money goes back to it. The [refund policy](https://bugclubhq.com/refunds) covers timing, cancellations and later requests.

## Ask for a quote

Email [hello@bugclubhq.com](mailto:hello@bugclubhq.com?subject=BugClub%20HQ%20for%20schools) with the number of students, their ages, whether you want a private class or open-group seats, and when they're free. I reply within a day. The next step is a call, about 20 minutes by video. Bring your questions and your IT person, if you want.

## Questions before you apply?

Email [hello@bugclubhq.com](mailto:hello@bugclubhq.com) and I'll answer it myself. You can also ask on the application call. If the applicant is under 18, a parent or guardian joins that call.
